The Future of Lauren the Daydreamer

The future of Lauren the Daydreamer

You may have noticed that I have took a little bit of a break from my blog recently. Last year was the best year for my blog yet, but near the end I started to find myself with a loss of motivation. I didn’t quite know where to go, or what to do.

See, as much as I love my blog, I need to change it up. Everyone is doing amazing things with their blog, and I found myself just floating along. Nothing was changing. My content was the same, my photo’s where all starting to look like duplicated of themselves, and I was losing my motivation.

So the past few weeks have been spent trying to figure out where I would like to go with my blog. The first thing I have decided is that I have to start back into beauty content. This blog was started as a beauty blog, and over the years I grew bored of that. But I miss it. I’m not saying this is going to be solely a beauty blog, but I definitely want to include a lot more beauty related content.

Another area I really want to expand on this year, is my fashion content. It was one of my blog goals for last year, but wasn’t really something I ended up achieving. So this year I am throwing aside my insecurities and fears, and just going for it.

And while I am waiting to put these changes into motion, I have already started to make slight changes. I changed up my blog look with a brand new theme from the amazing Pipdig. I absolutely love all of their themes, and it took me ages to decide on a new one, but I eventually settled on the beautiful Holly & Weave theme. I still have a few changes to make, but I’m already in love with it.

Another change I’ve made, is to end my daily posting on instagram. I actually stopped this back in December, but I’ve decided that will be a permanent change now. Don’t get me wrong- I know daily posting is the best way to grow your instagram account, which is one of my main goals for the year. But honestly, I just couldn’t do it anymore. It was getting too much, and it was demotivating me far too much. It also wasn’t doing anything for my creativeness. I started to feel like I was forcing myself for the sake of it, instead of creating for the love of it.

I’m definitely excited for the year ahead. I’m not promising I’ll blog every week, or that I’ll instagram every day. But instead I’m going to be posting quality posts on all social media platforms, that I actually love. And that, I think, will make all the difference.

It’s nice to see you back blogging again! Loving the little subtle changes and I can’t wait to see all of your ideas and posts this year! I adore the variety of blog posts on your blog and can’t wait to see some beauty and fashion ones 🙂 I’m definitely not a daily blogger or a daily instagrammer, instagram especially I know can be so frustrating, which is why I never really use a theme or worry about posting everyday 🙂 For me it’s somewhere to store photo memories <3

  • I’m so glad that you’re back at blogging again Lauren! I can’t wait to see all your amazing content this year; I’m sure it will be absolutely fab! xx

Whatever you decide what to do, I will always adore your content and photography. Genuinely, yours is one of my faves to read! I totally disagree with those that say you should have a niche; write about what you want to as long as you love what you’re producing!

  • I absolutely love your photography, but I’ve noticed that a lot of bloggers (myself included) lost motivation at the end of last year. In fact I have done the exact same as you and revamped my blog and so far it’s really helped my motivation. I can’t wait to see what’s to come for your blog and your fashion content sounds like a great area to enter into!
