2017 Blogging Goals: A reflection

2017 Blogging Goals

Back in December of last year, I put up a post listing my blogging goals for 2017. Since we are now over half way through the year, I thought it would be fun to look back on those goals and see how I’ve done with them.

1. Convert to WordPress

This was a goal that I very happily ticked off just a few days into 2017! I had originally planned to leave it a little longer but one night I just decided to go for it. And I can definitely say that I am so happy that I made the switch! My blog looks and works so much more professionally now, and I would recommend it to anybody who is thinking of making the switch. I think my proudest part of this goal is the fact I did everything myself. Sure it might have took me ages (a few full on 12 hour blog days) and I made a few mistakes along the way, but at least I can say I did it.

2. Stick to a Schedule

Another goal I have managed to complete! I decided I was going to do a Tuesday and Friday schedule and for the most part I’ve stuck to it. I skipped Easter week because I needed a break, and there was one week where I missed a post but I made up for it with an extra post the following week.

3. Start Outfit Posts

This definitely isn’t a goal I have managed to complete. I have only managed to get up one outfit post and one outfit instagram this year, but I definitely want to do more. My main issue is trying to get somebody to take the pictures, and I have yet to find a solution for this. But I do plan on using my insta stories a lot more in the future for OOTD’s.

4. Start to make some money

Back in May I finally started to make a little money from my blog and it’s something I’m very happy about! I definitely won’t be giving up my day job any time soon, but I have actually been able to cut down to 4 days a week for the most part.

5. Improve my Photography

If there is one goal I feel I have definitely achieved, it’s improving on my photography! I have put so much effort into my pictures this year and I have even posted on my instagram account every single day. I get so many comments from people telling me they like my photos and I can’t even begin to tell you guys how much this means to me!

Wow, so I’m definitely doing well with my goals, and we are only half way through the year! Here’s hoping I can keep it up for the 2nd part of the year, because I’ve really fallen back in love with my blog this year!

Did you make any blog goals this year?

  • Hayley The Tiny

I’m so pleased you are hitting all your goals! Your posts are amazing and paired with your photography it’s just an absolute pleasure to read everything and creep on your instragram for those magazine worthy shots šŸ™‚ You should be super proud of all that you have achieved! We are only half way through the year too!

  • I really want to do more outfit shots but I tend to just post them on my Instagram as they usually don’t feel good enough quality to go on the blog! xxx

  • Great goals and well done on achieving most of them!
I reckon your camera purchase and wordpress move together will definitely boost anything else you set yourself. They’re game changers! šŸ™‚

I would love to do more outfit posts, but like you, I struggle so much to get some to take pictures! I see posts about people who get their mothers or boyfriends to help, but my mum probably wouldn’t even know how to turn a camera on.. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜©

  • Your photography is amazing Lauren! I’m the same with outfit shoots, I love posting them but it’s such a struggle to get someone to shoot for me.

  • these are some great goals and I share some of them myself too! Your photography is great though! xx

  • Sian…

Genuinely, I’m such a fan of you and your blog Lauren. You are killing it this year with your content and photography. Outfit posts are so tricky when you don’t have your very own personal photographer! I’d love to spend some time with you so I can learn all your photography tips!

  • Huge congrats on achieving so many of your blogging goals! Starting to do outfit posts was definitely something I wanted to expand into recently, and I have done it on a couple of occasions which has made me really happy, especially with all the lovely comments I’ve received on them! Even just using your camera on self timer can produce great effects, as that’s what I do for all of mine! If you’re interested in joining an affiliate link program to make a bit of extra dosh from your blog, I can refer you to the one I’ve just started using – it has pretty generous rates of commission, up to 20% on ASOS, so just let me know if you’re interested! I’m sure you’ll keep up the amazing progress and do just as well in the remainder of 2017!
