So we’re now into the summer which means, in theory anyway, that we should have lots of good weather! And I’m sure I am not the only person who loves to get out and explore when it’s sunny rather than sitting around watching Netflix. So today I thought I would share a few local(ish) spots that I hope to go to over the summer.
The Peace Maze is situated in Castlewellan Forest Park about 40 minutes from where I live. I’ve been to Castlewellan a few times, and I’ve took quick walks into the forest, but have strangely never visited the maze.
The Argory is a gorgeous Irish gentry house which I visited as a child, but have to visit again. Mostly because I really want to take a walk around the gorgeous gardens to take some pictures!
Another spot I want to visit for the photographic opportunities it will give me! There is a walled garden, a maze and even a tropical butterfly house where there are butterflies flying around! I absolutely love butterflies so this sounds perfect to me.
I love the Ulster Museum, but I haven’t been in so long! There’s a new exhibition thats just opened called ‘Blurred Lines’ that is all about the evolution of fashion photography which sounds exactly like something I would love, so I’ll need to visit that.
Shockingly, I have never been to the Titanic museum, despite being in Belfast all the time and the Titanic Quarter being my favourite part of Belfast. I think I might finally make a visit this summer, though I have to admit: the admission price is definitely putting me off slightly (£18 per adult… that’s pretty damn pricey).
