A few months ago I finally got myself a proper bedside table, and since then I’ve been working on creating the perfect pinterest worthy table. And as well as trying to create the perfect table-top, I’ve also been trying to collect together the perfect bedside tables. After all, I spend a lot of time in my bed, so it only makes sense that I have the essential items at my finger tips. So without further ado, here are the items I like to reach for when I’m in bed.
Is there a girl out there who doesn’t have a lipbalm on her bedside table? I mean, I have them everywhere; my dressing table, my bag, my work jacket, car, boyfriends room… so it only makes sense I have one on my bedside table. I have an assortment of different lipbalms, but I generally use Carmex (seriously, pretty sure on last count I had like ten pots). I reach for it so many times during the day.
I generally apply my moisturiser at my dressing table before getting into bed, but there is the odd time I’ve been too lazy or forgetful, so I like to keep a moisturiser in my bedside table for those occasions. At the minute I have the Garnier Moisture Matte, but to be honest I’m not the biggest of fans. I mean, it’s not that I hate it, it just happens to be a moisturiser I bought but never really got on with, so I soon replaced it with something else, but it’s alright for the rare occurrences.
Sometimes when I’m lying in bed I randomly realise just how dry my knees or elbows are. I used to jump out of bed to go grab a lotion, but I decided to allow myself more time to be lazy, so I now keep a body butter in my drawer. It’s not as if I have a shortage of them, and my main body butter drawer is also full, so this helps to solve two issues. I pretty much only use The Body Shop body butters and the mini versions that I tend to receive at Christmas are perfect.
Does anybody have extremely dry hands or is it just me? Honestly, they’ve given me such a headache lately, I feel like I’m constantly apply hand cream. Luckily I must have a million hand creams so this isn’t a massive issue. Atm I have a L’Occitane Hand Cream, but this changes quite regularly.
If I’m going to apply moisturiser, then I’m obviously going to want clean hands. Since I’m too lazy to get out of bed for my moisturiser, I’m also too lazy to wash my hands, so this is where hand sanitisers come in. Currently I have one Bath and Body Works, which tbh, is pretty damn old and probably doesn’t even work anymore.
I have quite long nails, and I often find myself getting a slight chip or rough edge, so I’m forever reaching for my nail file. This is just a random nail file that I bought for £1, but it does the job.
