Books I Want to Read

Books I Want to Read

This year I set myself a goal to read 20 books, which I discussed in my New Year Resolutions 2017 post. I got off to a good start in January, however I failed to read a full book in February. So when I was rearranging my bookshelf, I decided to take a note of the books I want to read.

I’ve had all of these books for quite some time now and have just never got around to reading them. I would also love to read some newer books so if anybody has any recommendations let me know! But for now, here are the books in my to-read pile:

‘The Diary of a Young Girl’ Anne Frank

I bought this book last year when I visited the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam. However while I started reading it, I gave up half way through. I would love to read this the whole way through as I was enjoying it, and I do find Anne Franks story interesting.

‘Wuthering Heights’ Emily Bronte

I have read this book before, but I read it years ago when I was a teenager, and I don’t remember enjoying it very much. I think it’s a book I might be able to enjoy more now as an adult so I definitely want to give it a go.

‘Reached’ Ally Condie

My brother bought me this a few years ago for my birthday but I never got around to reading it. I think it’s actually the final part of a trilogy. If it is I will have to buy the first two books to read before this, but I will read it.

‘Lord of the Rings’ J.R.R Tolkien

This is a collection that I have had since I was a child. Unfortunately, as much as I loved reading, I could never make it through these books. I think I made the mistake of starting with ‘The Hobbit’ which is apparently the hardest to read. So I think this time, I’ll be starting with ‘Fellowship of the Ring’.

I love that you’ve got a wide range of books. My to-read list is waaaay too long! Classics are definitely on my radar but I do have tonnes of contemporary books to read too! I want to re-read the Harry Potter series too!
