Blogging Cliches I Can’t Help But Love

Blogging Cliches I Can't Help But Love

We can’t deny it, the blogging world is full of cliches. A lot of us have similar likes, and interests so it’s only natural that we end up buying similar homewares, clothes and colour schemes. And while we all try our best to make sure our blog is individual and our own, sometimes we can’t help but fall into the cliches that surround blogging. So today I thought I would share a few blogging cliches that I happily embrace.

All white everything

From my furniture to my instagram backgrounds, I love me some white. I’ve totally fallen into the trap of an all white bedroom: If my furniture wasn’t white when I bought it, you can be sure I have painted it white. And while my walls might not be a crisp white, it is a super pale blue with grey undertones that compliments my white furniture perfectly. I also have various forms of white backgrounds to use for my instagram and blog photos, from pieces of coverboard, to shelves.

Candles, candles everywhere

Are you really a blogger if you don’t like candles? Think of any of your favourite/top bloggers and I’m sure 99% of them love their candles and most of us are no different. I have them everywhere. There areย two on my dresser, 5 on my chest of drawers, one on my bedside table, and multiple others dotted around my room. I always have them burning, especially if I know somebody is coming around. Unfortunately however, my budget doesn’t allow me to buy into the ultimate cliche… Diptyque.

Stationery obsessed

If there’s one thing most bloggers love as much as candles, it’s stationery and I am no different. I’ve actually had to ban myself from going into TK Maxx as every time I went in you could be guaranteed that I would leave with at least one notebook. I have drawers full of unused notebooks, and most of the notebooks I have used only have a page or two used before I move onto the next.

Everything Apple

From the minute I started watching beauty vloggers on youtube, I wanted a Macbook Pro. And when I went to university, I finally bought myself one, and I’ve never turned back. Like most bloggers, all of my technology is Apple, and I wouldn’t turn back. After all, a laptop on a bed photo just isn’t the same if it isn’t Apple.

  • LOVE this post! So relatable hehe! I’m not an all-white kinda girl but I definitely feel you on the stationery and Apple products, once you’ve gone Mac you’ll never go back! Maybe once I’m in my own place and not a student rental, I’ll embrace the all-white style more and paint my furniture!

    • Oh I just love all-white. My room looks so much brighter now! Though I don’t think I could ever go with the full-on all-white with the walls and all… might look a but to clinical for my liking ha. Thanks for reading ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Sian…

I agree with you on a couple of points! All white everything is needed in my bedroom because it’s pretty small and gets very little sunlight so I need it to appear brighter and bigger! I’m also a stationery hoarder; I’m always on the hunt for pens and notebooks! Your bedroom is super cute too!

    • All-white definitely helps to make a room look bigger and brighter! I’m lucky that my room is pretty big, but whenever I didn’t have white furniture, it looked so dull! Ah thanks Sian, it’s finally getting to how I want it ๐Ÿ™‚

    • It is dying down slightly but I still notice it all over pinterest so I think it will be here for a while yet ha. I love colourful things, but it just doesn’t suit me and my room ha.

Omg are we literally the same person!? Dyptique is out of my budget too, I can’t even look at TK Maxx without adding another notebook to my collection and I’m just thinking of investing in a Macbook! I do find that being a blogger encourages you to make life beautiful!

    • Ha I bought my friend a Diptique candle a few weeks ago for her birthday and I was sooo tempted to keep it for myself ha! Oh it definitely does. I suppose we spend so much time looking at everybodys perfect pictures and perfect houses that it’s only natural. Thanks for reading Sinead ๐Ÿ™‚

Haha this made me laugh!! I’m all about white and grey furniture so I’m definitely a cliche ๐Ÿ˜‚ And I also can’t quite bring myself to buy a Diptique candle but I looove them!

Lots of love Izzy | http://www.ADoseOfChatter.com

  • I tell myself I’m not, but I can’t help being a cliche. lol
Though, apart from maybe a bedroom turning into white, I’m not down with white every room.. I like my living space to be cosy!
I’m all for candles, however of the Yankee kind. I also at 33 years old and 4 years of blogging, got my first Jo Malone item. I also have a light box.. and a Macbook. I totally still on with copper, which is in the kitchen and parts of my white bedroom. :p

I’m agree with your point “all white” ๐Ÿ™‚ I love white and pastels, white and grey, white and white hehe ๐Ÿ™‚ but I don’t have everything apple! I’m not a huge fan of it… and think it’s too complicate ! I really love Samsung phones and if I need to change my phone I’ll buy a Samsung! (even if the rose gold iphone is TOOOO pretty) hey, everthing rose gold is another blogging cliches!! xx

ALL the pretty pictures. I don’t always want to see “real” life, I just want to see wonderful creations people have made. I love the escapism of it xx

  • This is such a fab positive post! Sometimes blogger cliches can be seen as something negative, but I love how you turned a different light on them. I love all of these things too! White furniture is just so lovely and give me all the notebooks pleaseeeee xx
